Uber busy
With a server rebuild, client database, 3 in-house software projects and the company website to work on I’m running around like a blue arsed fly. Eesaa crayzee.
If I get a chance to post it will most probably be brief.

SKY+ IS COMING HERE!
It feels like bloody Christmas again. I’m getting my Sky+ installed today and I’m so (over)excited.
For some reason though, I’m cleaning my flat. If anyone that knows me IRL is reading this post they will currently be thinking: “What a liar”. I’m a self-confessed lazy bastard and semi-pro procrastinator; I’m happy with this. When people just turn up out of the blue I’m not fussed as to what state the flat is in1. But when you know someone is coming over… it’s weird. You feel compelled to clean up.
Oh well. goes back to washing up and hoovering
Update:
The Sky bloke has been and gone. I cannot describe the ecstasy at being able to pause “Back to the Future” to come and write this. Awesome. Just awesome. I’m sure I’ll be prattling on about the merits of Sky+ in future posts, so I’m just going to leave the gloating there. ;)
1. To be honest, it’s never normally that bad because, paradoxically, I’m also reasonably tidy. Whether I clean up after myself or not can only be decided after these parts of my psyche go toe to toe for the full ten rounds, and even then it’s a tough call. Procrastination normally wins out over lazyness and tidyness though.
EU Software Patents bill rejected.
This is good news. It will allow Open Source software to keep on flourishing as it has been without large companies patenting software left, right and center just to further their own interests.
Upgraded
I’m all upgraded. And there are a few things that I’ve played with and broken. Comments aren’t working at the moment and neither are a few less obvious bits and pieces. I’ll get it sorted tomorrow.
New version of Wordpress
Wordpress 1.5 has been released. I’ll be upgrading mine tonight while copying files from server to server.
Just a heads up for anyone who is going to be upgrading; there is a very thorough and helpful step by step upgrade guide available. Do what it says to the letter. I’ve already read quite a few posts on the Wordpress Forums about idiots people not following the guide as was suggested.
