It’s been a while since my last post due to my workload, social life and family functions. Oh so much alcohol and, as a result, days in the office where productivity is low to say the least. The problem with that is this: I can’t afford to have low productivity.
I’m currently developing the website for the company I work for. This is no normal website though. This is the website from hell. Basically it is a means to deliver our… er… deliverables to our clients via the web in an attempt to go completely paperless. Simple enough in essence, if only the management would stop moving the goalposts every 10 minutes. Whenever I get a feature finalised they decide that that’s not quite what they want this afternoon but it could all change by morning. sigh
Oh well, back to the grindstone for now. Expect a couple of posts today as I’m hungover and I’m not sure I can actually face real work. I’ll just sit here with my code editor open and a look of concentration on my face. That normally does the trick.

I find a DOS box with dir /s often looks impressive as someone walks by, or a ping -t ….

Haha, yes. Everyone has their little tricks. When doing networky type stuff rather than cody type stuff I employ similar diversive techniques. My favourite is “tracert” in one and “route print” in another. That just confuses the shit out of anyone (including me sometimes, depending on my frame of mind).

I feel your pain - I’m doing the same thing - except every freakin’ day they say –”Oh, we NEVER said we could provide you with THAT. Guess you’ll just have to find a workaround.”
ARG! I feel like a constant pirate. ARGing my way through the day.
