Ok, I lied. It seems that setting up the new server to my satisfaction is going to take far too long for me not to make a post. So, without further adieu, the goods:
As you may have read, I ordered myself a Creative Zen Micro last week and I can honestly say that it’s the one purchase I’ve made in recent times that has genuinely made me happy.
It is funky looking, very small, light, and I can lose myself in the glowing/pulsating backlight. I also like the touchpad controls. Due to their layout and the unit’s menu system it took me less than five seconds to work out how to use the thing. There’s a reason why the instruction book is only 4 pages!
The sound quality, while dependant on the mp3/wma, is good but is improved upon once you lose the standard headphones. Add to that the FM radio, customisable EQ, contact management, alarm, and a whole plethora of other funky features which I’ll probably not use regularly, and you have a very cool piece of equipment. Oh, and I can use it as a USB Harddrive too, should I have enough space and a need.
If you’re looking for an MP3 player but you wish to skip the iPod bandwagon I heartily reccomend the Zen Micro. The only negative that I’ve found with the unit is the fact that the included headphones are uncomfortable and don’t produce great sound quality. Oh, and they’re white. :)
